Yep some more Fairy Concepts.... Im having so much fun creating characters I dont know if I'll ever get to the comic haha. Well Im kinda stuck on the Four Kings story line mabey a bit much to bite off for my first comic.... so I was thinking about doing what I was going to do in the first place and do a series of smaller story lines based in this world with the Four Kings being a background story untill its properly evolved.. yeah so I still want to have something started by the end of this week. I have a few smaller stories that tie into the Kings story line which I can work on, just narrowing it down atm.

Yep its a Canada Day Post, hellz yeah. But Im done now... thanks to some friends who came and talked to me about it after a really really bad night. Portfolio Review Post.

This post is dedicated to my folio review which I just finished about 15 mins ago. Aside from some gramatical and spelling issues, in fact it went so well even with those quite notable issues I still got a A on my portfolio. Betty gave me some exellent pointers on what to do for my submition to Emily Carr.
I decided to do my folio as a mock art book. Betty suggested that if I wanted to send it like that it would work. She said that I should bind it and make it a hard cover so that I could do a painting right on the cover and that way the book itself would be considered a piece of work and count towards one of my pieces.
Anywho I'll show you the cover and some Paintings I did ..... yep getting into the wild world of color I am AND loveN it.

I didnt have alot of time so I stuck a mirror infront of me ol computer and did this SP all in Ink......kinda wish I coulda spent some more time on this, but at least I got to take part in this wicked event. Heres one I worked on just now missed the deadline by 20 mins though ugghhh. Oh well at least I got one in. This one is graphite on printer paper and spent about 30-40 min while listening to halloween tunes .. just cant get outa the spirit :). Oh and I riged a mirror to kinda hang infront of my drawing board so I can really start to put some time into these things without my left arm going numb lol. Now I just need a strong light source to get some wicked shadows going on ... well one thing at a time.

Been having lots of fun on my vacation and now its back to the slave world. I guess its a good thing every day at work makes me realize how much I really need to get into the line of work I love. It seems so far away athough not really as long as I keep pushing now and really push when Im in school hopefully Ill be able to keep up to the ppl around me at CA.
Which brings me to the second part of my post. The new featured artist of the ummm month I guess .... I think Alien had a longer run than a month though....., well Im going to make it a monthly thing. Right intro, so the new artist of the month is BJÖRN HURRI. This guy is amazing, I had the opertunity to do a OC session with him one day and it was freaking awsome. It was a short session but still very cool. Oh yeah OC is a program which allows two computers to link up and paint on the same canvas. Very interesting program.

Just been playing around with a brush pen the last couple days. I was sketching the other day and going no were fast so I grabed my ole brush pen and things just started to flow. There some thing about drawing in a medium were you know misstakes are unavoidable so you just go at it and get you ideas out. It's very relaxing.

K first up some design ideas for my website hopefully up by this fall. Im taking my time on this one cuz I dont want to have to redesign it every couple months lol.

Ummm yeah just a few more life drawings from my class at the gallery.

The longest poses we get are 25 min poses so there not as detailed as they could be due to time limits. Im pretty happy with them considering the limited time givin. We start with 30 sec drawing and then a few 3-5 min drawing and move on to 15 min and finaly we end with two 25 min poses. The top 2 are 25 min poses and the last one is a 15min pose.... so yeah learning how to really manage my time with these and get the human figure down quick.

Now with some other news Im going to email my old art history teacher Kirk Sauer <------ Rocks. Btw if you want to see some of his work.... Really recomended, go to the CNC library and ask were the gallery is. Anyway back to what I was saying Im going to see if Kirk is still doing privite painting lessons at his studio, I hope he is. If so Ima going to start up some painting whoooot.... never really done it before so I main as well learn from the best.

Just some junk I been sketching, mostly on my breaks at work seeing as they like to back my weeks up together giving me no time to really spend a good day just drawing. But I get all day tommorow off and I have my class at the gallery tommorrow night so I'm going to spend the entire day just doing studies and portraits so that Im good and warmed up and can make the most of my class tommorrow night, also need to take some photos of what I have thus far cuz they are to big to scan.

Anywho the first one is for the Kings Son Who Feared Nothing. A goblin design.

Ummmm yeah just bought a 2mm lead sharpener. Ive had a 2mm lead holder for a year or so and never been able to find a sharpener for it and today paid a visit to speedies and lo and behold their it was whooot I love it. Anyway heres anouther Kings son design done with a 4b 2mm lead holder.

Just seen the movie Howls moving Castle last night. Man I love it. Howl comes off as being to nice for someone with no heart so I remade him a bit Darker.

Heres some Tinker bell designs as well. I started off with a study of Tinker Bell as she is in the Diseny Universe.

And then I did a quick tribal kinda sketch.

After that I played around with a Dark Tinker Bell before moving on to the final pic.

Well lets try this again. I tried to post a few days ago when I got a minute but Blogger was a bogging and I couldnt upload pictures. So Im having anouther go at it.

Lets start at the title then. I was working kids night yesterday and we just pimped out the kidz corner with a buncha junk, including a poster of the new movie Over the Hedge (really want to see this one) so seeing as the poster was there I sketched acouple of characters off the poster. The Barking cat isnt one of the characters..... just something for fun before I decided to sketch these out.

K a project character. The black maiden..... I think this is the third concept of her. The second one didnt turn out so hot.

OHHHHH and a I just aquired a freaking wicked book. Art of Star Wars... The movies, although visually awinspiring, were a bit of a let down.... not a total let down but not living up to the Star Wars of old. Anyway The art team which was used for these three movies was a power house of my favorite concept artist like Feng Zhu(The reson I got into concept art), Ryan Church, Iane McCaig <---- designed Darth Maul. These are just a few. Most ppl are like hey the looks like a Degas or a Rembrant or whatever, I go thourgh books and Im like hey the looks like a Wesly Burt or a Iane McCaig lol yeah super geek. I sat through the credits at the last Harry Potter film just to see ... Iane McCaig concept design. Anyway heres the cover. This book owns me.

K last night was the Ruffest Rawest ASS RAPE in a long long time *growl hiss spit* Dez I know you know the kinda night we were assulted with. To kinda explain last night heres the downward spiral that occured.

1 Someone had a personal issue and couldnt work..... I really glad He/She didnt need to stay for last night. It was brutal enough without having anything in the background... you know. I hope you feel better soon :(

2 Someone covered Someone.... yep gotta love working doubles. Thank you ____ your a life saver. Next time I see you Ima hugging you lol, which is tonight ;)

3 The night started out slow..... calm befor the end of all that we know.

4 3:30am ppl started to come in and were like oka lets get this bar rush done .... easy money. Well not so easy cuz like 4 min later the masses had gathered at out door step.

5. 4:00am More ppl in sick amounts, kinda like maggots on a decaying carcass. 4:30 Yep More ppl .... I think about that time the restrant was Packed, the kitchen print out paper started to curl on the floor and Mike went into the kithcen.

6. Hour wait on food, Angry hungry drunk asses ahhhhhh its almost a beautiful combination on some sick satanic sort of way. Its almost to painfull to continue ... but I feel I must.

7. 4:30 not only was there a hour wait on food but the tables that had got food in the early bar rush had eaten and left just in time for yet anouther crowd to come in and even befor we could clear tables they had taken apon them self to sit were they pleased.... The only thing worse than a self seater is a Drunk ass Bitch FUck TARDs WHO sit at a dirty table demands appys right away along with drinks WHILE your clearing and wiping their table.... FUCK YOU....

8. K its to much now. Around 5:00 things calmed down and it was just a wait for food. The kitchen had managed to get the role off the ground. Kitchen Staff.... Fawking GODS, I bow to you.

Its been awhile since my last post holy crap. Its not that I havnt got anything to post I've just been to lazy to scan and take the time to post. Well heres a few of the Kings son designs.... been falling behind on this project BUT definitly not quiting. Ive had to much fun with this one to just stop now. So heres what Ive got thus far.

Also Ive had a couple reqeust as of late to do some Music art for acouple of local bands. One is a really new start up band started by acouple of our regulars here at Dennys ... Zach and Peter the bands name Waste Basket ReJects <---- you cant go wrong with a band name like that. They asked me to do some skullz up for them so heres my first attemp .... hopefully goes over well.

And the other band I have no Idea of who they are but I was asked to draw something up the bands name is Media. They played last night .... which I was suppose to check out and ended up missing. Yeah around back I shouda known lol. Anyway need to make a pit stop later at Dennys to drop of the Pics to Zach.

K so thursday night I went out to the Rum Jungle with Diana Tanja and Joanne it was pretty fun but the wickedest part of the whole night was I got Autographs from Bass Rutten UFC chamion booo yeah mutha F#$kerZ <------ got a big slap on the face for screaming that out when Bass Rutten was anounced. The DJ was like and we have two geust judges for the ring girl comp. Butter Bean ( the boxer/ Jack ass star) .... the ppl there kinda claped and then he was like and Bass Rutten(UFC Champion) and the ppl were still like ummmm clap clap ... *cricket cricket* I was like wtf these ppl dont know who this is AND the DJ was like come on ppl Bass Rutten and Butter Bean, so I got up and screamed as loud as I could YEAHHHHH BASS RUTTEN MUTHA FUCKERZ!!! and right after that Diana Slaped my good and hard across the face ...It was worth it though. As soon as the comp was over I raced down to the dance floor ( I think I almost ran over a couple of the girls) and got both Bass Ruttens and Butter Beans Autographs... so cool, Diana got me a second one of Butter Beans on a yellow card. Here they are though. So FREAKING COOOOOL!!!!!!!!

Weeeeeee new project on the go ......I've decided to bite off more than I can
chew with this one I think.... but some times you need to have a go at something really hard just to see what you can do. I got the idea of the Skillful Huntsman, a book I got from design studio press. What they did was take a
story from the brothers Grimm(The Skillful Huntsman) and make it into a production
design project. They were allowed to take the story to any time or place they
liked as long as it had all the same elements of the story. They broke the story
down into its main parts Characters,Creatures,Enviroments and Set,Transports and Props. Then they designed each aspect of the story as if it were going to
be made into a movie,tv show, game or whatever. By the time they were done they had a book which illustrated how the first stages of development as though it were going to be made into a movie or whatever. I thought that it would be a great learning experience to take this on. Im planing on making a pdf file of the book so it will be like a downloadable book. So heres my project.

Ive broken it down like this.

.Characters.

-The Kings Son ..... He has no name other than that so lots of leway there.
-The black maiden.
-The King... not in the story for long but whatever.

Creatures.

-The Giant and if you like the Women Giant he is trying to win the heart of.

-Lots of creatures of the court yard were the tree of life is located.
-The demonds.
-The hob goblins.

Locations.

-the Kings castle and surronding area.
-Some locations the Kings son may have went.
-The Giants house and yard.
- The court yard.
-The lake were the Kings son Regained his vision.
-The cursed castle.

Props.

-The Giants ball and pin game.
-The apple.
-The tree of life.
-The ring arm ring.
-the demonds gambling table.
-The Princes Sword.

Transports.

-Umm dont really say anything about transports but I assum he couldnt walk
everywere..... well mabey but this is my take on it so whatever.

I suck at doing enviroment so hopefully this will help me out alot. Im also known for not finishing a project... yeah if you dont see updates often your welcome to slap me and say get on it already.

Holy freaking HELL.... theres been two ppl that I have wanted to make gnome dvd Marko Djurdjevic <----- God of character design and Puddnhead <-------- God of freaky and Puddnhead just came out with dvd. Well now onto other news.... Im pretty much done Mike Markos tat its the second from the bottom. Im pretty happy with it.... its the Angel of Death. I still need to do a tat for Garfield and Mac...... I really need to get my ass in gear and make up a tat folio to go around to the local tat shops and sell my wearz. Who knows mabey it will work out.

Still working on this one .... Im happy with the head shots. I just need to work it abit more.... Not really sure were Im going with this. This is a character I created way back in me SA dayz. I though Id pull him outa resting and see if I could revamp him up. Ill keep you posted as to the progress or the lack there of.

Yeah its all old stuff for now .... I have some new stuff on the go but Im to lazy to scan it ...plus it all experimental right now.... trying to get into some new stuff. This is a character from about a year ago. Im really into foot bag( Hacky Sac) in the summer so I decided to make a mascot and this is what I came up with Buddha Monkey..... umm he's really simply colored cuz I was planing on puting him on some T'z ... yeah that never happened. Yeah I need a new site made up .... the one I have right now just pisses me off ..... so dumb when it comes to web design <------- BAD NEWS.... making a freaking web site takes to much time ... time which I don't have at the moment. I wish I could clone myself..... and I wouldn't be having sex with it ...... creepy lol.On a brighter note though, the Two Rivers art gallery in town is holding a artist discusion night and on Nov 24/2005 they are hosting Ken Henderson -----> check out his site on the side.
